More New & Old Records!
I can't believe how many records I checked in Wednesday, all in four hours (thanks to Evan for helping this happen, I thought I was gonna kill myself trying to get all of this out to the bin). Here's a rundown:
Vinyl
Fennesz Black Sea
Som Imaginario S/T (nice Brazilian psych)
Bachs Out of the Bachs (reissue of rare 60's classic)
Cold Sun Dark Shadows (best psych LP dug up in years)
V/A Oh Graveyard, You Can't Hold Me Always (Mississippi Label comp. of 60's/70's gospel)
Spiritual Singers S/T (70's Congolese gospel, also on Mississippi)
Blatz/Filth Shit Split
La Otracina Blood Moon Riders
Collie Ryan S/T (70's psychfolkwritersongsinger private press re-up type thing, don't know if it's any good)
Robert Pollard Crawling Distance
Jeremy Jay Love Everlasting 12"
plus 7" by Finally Punk, Tyvek, Vibrarians, Angelo Spencer, King Khan, and some Norton oldies.
AND, the biggest Get Hip restock of rock/jazz/soul reissues that I have ever received... way too much to list. The bins are stuffed, but they don't seem that way because I just expanded the amount of space devoted to vinyl yet again!
Compact Discs
Zomby Where Were You in 92?
Blatz/Filth Shit Split
Robert Pollard Crawling Distance (dude has another Boston Spaceships coming soon too)
Arthur Russell Love is Overtaking Me (restock, get on the bus)
V/A Art of the Field Recording Vol. 2 (the newest Dust-To-Digital box set)
Also many many many K, Touch & Go (including KRS), and Forced Exposure restocks.
I got some cds from Get Hip too, for instance we now have Spacemen 3's Perfect Prescription for the first time in over a year. Because we back-order things, and then they show up. As a surprise. It makes life interesting.
Next Week: Animal Collective, Antony & the Johnsons, Andrew Bird, & A.C. Newman... 2009 begins for real.
